How old is the earth? Billions of years or just thousands of years?
In the beginning God created... how long ago was it that God created? In the 1990's, studying mitochondrial DNA, scientists determined Eve lived 200,000 years ago. But by the end of the 1990's they had learned more about the mutation rate of DNA, and that number dropped down to 6000 years. God created Eve on day six, 6000 years ago,
Here is what happened: Originally it was thought that our DNA was composed of 80% junk... leftovers from failed mutations that did not produce a benefit. But, in the late 1990's it was found that the junk DNA was not junk, but performed important functions. This dramatically changed the DNA mutation rate, and resulting in the date of the first human woman being revised to be in the range of 6,000 years.
It's now been nearly 20 years since junk DNA was debunked by secular geneticists, but this has largely been ignored by believers in evolution. Why? Because it proves evolution is impossible. Anything that shows evolution is impossible must be attacked, and if it can't be attacked it is ignored.
It is important to note that Mitochondrial DNA does not scientifically prove that Eve was the first woman. It only shows that everyone alive today descends from one woman who lived about 6,000 years ago. The facts of mitochondrial DNA alone allow for other women to have existed before Eve, or at the same time as Eve, but their children did not survive to leave evidence of their existence. Mitochondrial DNA is consistent with the Biblical account, but on it's own it does not rule out evolution. However, as shown in another of our videos, that "junk" DNA is actually functional means we are not only not evolving, we are heading for extinction.

Before you get the good news, you need to know the bad news. It's about you. God says:
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23
Sin means disobeying God, aka breaking God's law. God is perfect and perfection is required to enter heaven. It's a standard none of us can achieve. We all fall short. For example, compare yourself with just one of the Ten Commandments. Have you ever told a lie?
All liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. - Revelation 21:8. Or what about:
Have you ever taken something that does not belong to you, no matter how small? Have you ever looked at another person with lust? In Matthew 5 Jesus said:
Everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.' Have you done that?
You have broken God's laws. You have sinned. There must be justice, and that means eternity in hell, the lake of fire, the second death. Unless...
Unless there was someone willing to pay that penalty on your behalf. Someone who will take on themselves the consequences you deserve. And there is. There is one person who can and will do that. That person is Jesus Christ. If you trust this is true (believe), and repent (turn away from disobeying God), Jesus' death is applied to your account and you are freed from the penalty of sin to be with God forever.
