Michael Behe: Darwin Devolves

We should note that Behe believes in an old earth and common descent. He is not a Biblical creationist.
It has been known, in general, that "nearly all" mutations are detrimental. I put "nearly all" in quotes because, to date, no one has observed a mutation that is not detrimental, with possibly one or two obscure mutations. So, for purposes of discussion, all mutations are detrimental.
That does not mean that a mutation is not beneficial. There can be a short-term benefit that helps the organism, but overall the organism has lost information and is less fit. In his book one of the examples Behe uses is that of sickle cell anemia. The benefit is that it provides immunity to malaria. The drawback is that the DNA has been seriously damaged with the following effects (quoted from the Mayo Clinic web site):
The above is quoted from: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sickle-cell-anemia/symptoms-causes/syc-20355876
In his book Behe comprehensively lays out the biochemical proof that mutations degrade the organism (defined as a loss of information at a minimum) and over time lead, not to an improved organism, but a dead, extinct organism. In other words, the process we call evolution (the General Theory of Evolution), does not exist. Evolution never happened and never could happen. We are devolving (going downhill). Behe' biochemical science is good, but what is missing is a credible explanation that accounts for the diversity of life and all that we observe. We were designed and created perfect by God, and through our sin all life has been damaged and is now degrading. That's what the Bible says, and that is exactly what we observe.
God created us, and we will be accountable to Him.
You cannot hide anything from God, and you can't hide from God:
'Can a man hide himself in hiding places So I do not see him?' declares the LORD 'Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?' declares the LORD. - Jeremiah 23:24
Imagine you have an SD card in your head that records every thought and dream. We record for a month and then rent a theater. All your friends are invited as we play that SD card on the big screen. How would you feel?
That's what God sees. He is disgusted and knows that because of your sin (those thoughts we all see on the big screen) you will never be with God. But God still loves you, and He made an incredible sacrifice for you. He died in your place.
You have a choice. Reject God... and get what you say you want... you'll spent eternity separated from God. And that means separated from EVERYTHING that is good. Think about that.
Or accept the gift God offers... trust that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty you've earned (remember those thoughts on the SD card). Jesus paid your penalty in full. It is finished
There is no darkness or deep shadow Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. - Job 34:22
